Cubatabaco
Cubatabaco, Cuba's state tobacco monopoly, employed various cigar bands throughout its history to distinguish different product lines and commemorate special occasions. These bands serve as important markers for collectors and enthusiasts seeking to authenticate and date vintage Cuban cigars.
Standard Bands

General Purpose Band
The General Purpose Band represented Cubatabaco's standard identification marker for regular production cigars. These bands featured an embossed design and were utilized during a specific four-year period from 1962 through 1966. After 1966, this particular band style was discontinued, making surviving examples from this era particularly noteworthy for collectors.

Special Bands
Beyond standard production bands, Cubatabaco created distinctive bands for limited edition and commemorative releases. These special bands often featured unique design elements that set them apart from regular production markers.

1492 Humidor Band
The 1492 Humidor Band was created for special commemorative humidors celebrating the quincentenary of Columbus's arrival in the Americas. Unlike the General Purpose Band, these special bands were not embossed. Each band was individually numbered, adding an element of exclusivity and providing collectors with a method to identify specific units within limited productions.

25 Aniversario Band
The 25 Aniversario Band commemorated a quarter-century milestone for Cubatabaco. This special release band joined the ranks of commemorative markers that celebrated significant moments in the organization's history.
