Vegueros Belicosos Extra Collector
The Vegueros Belicosos Extra Collector stands as one of the more intriguing limited releases in Cuban cigar history. Produced in 2002, this special edition cigar emerged from unusual circumstances that make it particularly noteworthy among collectors and enthusiasts.
Background and Release History

According to industry reports, the Belicosos Extra was originally crafted for Habanos' 135th Anniversary Humidors. However, in a last-minute decision, these cigars were replaced with a different vitola for the anniversary celebration. Rather than discard the already-produced stock, Habanos opted to release the existing Belicosos Extra cigars as this special limited edition under the Vegueros brand.
The release was distributed through special commission channels in extremely limited quantities, with only 200 numbered humidors produced, each containing 25 cigars.

The Belicosos Extra Collector features a distinctive special band that closely resembles the standard Vegueros Band A. The primary difference lies in the deeper shading applied to the lower stem within the "V" logo, providing a subtle visual distinction that attentive collectors will appreciate.
Each cigar was housed in a numbered humidor of 25 units, with a total production run limited to just 200 such humidors worldwide.
Collectibility
Given its unusual origin story, extremely limited production, and special commission distribution, the Vegueros Belicosos Extra Collector remains a sought-after piece for serious Cuban cigar collectors. The combination of the Vegueros brand's reputation for quality tobacco from the Pinar del Río region and the unique circumstances of its release ensures this cigar's place in Cuban cigar history.
