Partagás de Luxe

The Partagás de Luxe represents one of the most enduring offerings from the legendary Partagás brand, with a history stretching back to the pre-1960 era. This cigar has undergone several transformations throughout its production lifetime, evolving from a machine-made product to the fully handcrafted cigar that enthusiasts enjoy today.

History and Evolution

Originally released before 1960, the Partagás de Luxe has remained in continuous production for decades, demonstrating its lasting appeal among cigar aficionados. For many years, specifically until approximately 2002, this cigar was machine-made. The transition to handmade construction marked a significant upgrade in quality and craftsmanship, elevating the smoking experience to meet the standards expected of premium Cuban cigars.

Around 2010, the cigar received updated tube packaging, refreshing its presentation while maintaining its classic appeal. The band design also evolved over time — early versions featured a special Partagás de Luxe band, which was replaced by the standard Partagás band B around 2011.

Packaging History

The Partagás de Luxe was traditionally available in several presentation formats, all featuring aluminium tubes for protection and preservation:
- Dress box of 25 cigars in aluminium tubes — The primary presentation format
- Dress box of 10 cigars in aluminium tubes — Discontinued in 2019
- Cardboard pack of 3 cigars in aluminium tubes — Discontinued in 2012
The aluminium tubes, which were once a defining feature of this cigar's presentation, have been discontinued, marking another chapter in the evolution of this historic vitola.
The Cremas Vitola
The Partagás de Luxe is crafted in the Cremas format, a slender and elegant size that offers a refined smoking experience. With its 40 ring gauge and 140 mm length, this cigar provides a moderate smoking time ideal for those seeking the classic Partagás flavor profile in a more manageable format. The Cremas vitola allows for a concentrated expression of the blend's characteristics while maintaining excellent combustion properties.
