Presentation and Packaging

The Montecristo Master has been offered in two distinct packaging formats since its introduction. The original 2009 release featured a traditional dress box containing 20 cigars, appealing to collectors and connoisseurs who appreciate classic presentation.

In 2010, an alternative packaging option joined the lineup: a display box containing 15 cigars, each protected within individual aluminum tubes. These tubed cigars are organized into five cardboard packs of three cigars each, offering excellent portability and protection for the traveling aficionado.

Band Design

The Master features Montecristo's standard bands C and D, complemented by a distinctive Open Master band that identifies it as part of the Open series. In 2025, Montecristo introduced a special double band design specifically for the Open Master, giving this vitola an updated and refined aesthetic that distinguishes it within the brand's extensive catalog.

Background and Development

During its development phase, the cigar was conceived under the proposed "Sport" range designation, where it was designated to carry the Master name. This sporting heritage is reflected in the Open line's positioning, which was created to appeal to active cigar enthusiasts seeking a more accessible smoking experience without sacrificing quality.

As a current regular production cigar, the Montecristo Master remains readily available to discerning smokers worldwide, continuing to uphold the standards expected of this iconic Cuban brand.
